Ryan Hunter-Reay, the Fastest Man at The Mile PDF Print E-mail

Ryan Hunter-Reay set the pace tonight at the historic Milwaukee Mile; his best lap time was faster than last year's pole time. Running under the bright lights and cooler conditions offered a different challenge to the Herdez engineers, but they prevailed with both cars finishing in the top five in today's practice sessions. Hunter-Reay and Dominguez spent the practice sessions running race and qualifying simulations, preparing for Saturday's 250-mile shoot-out.  Practice continues tomorrow afternoon, followed by single-car qualifying tomorrow evening at 8:30 pm.

Ryan on the day: “It's a good start to the weekend for sure, and I am happy with the balance of the car.  We had a very good test here last month and we basically just applied the set-up that we found at the test.  This is a very physical track because it is just one-mile there is really no break at all for the driver.  It is also a very technical oval andhaving a good car right out of the box is a good feeling, I am really looking forward to the rest of the weekend.”

Keith Wiggins, Managing Director, “I am pleased that we are continuing the progress that we saw here in testing with both drivers.  Obviously tomorrow is the day that counts and I am hopeful that we will continue to set the pace”.
