Saturday, June 4, 2004 - For the first time in his Champ Car career, series Sophomore Ryan Hunter-Reay will start from the pole position in tomorrow's Time Warner Cable Roadrunner 250.  Hunter-Reay has dominated the weekend and claimed the pole position on his first “green” lap and bettered it on his second, setting a fast time of 20.509 seconds at 181.150 mph.  It is Hunter-Reay's second pole position at The Milwaukee Mile; his first came in 2002 when he earned his first Formula
Atlantic pole position.  Teammate Mario Dominguez will start from row two in the fourth position, his third top-five start in as many races.  It is the first pole position for Herdez Competition, 2004 being their fourth year of Champ Car competition.

Ryan on the day: “We have taken a fantastic approach to the weekend and our result tonight is proof of that.  We knew we had a good car but with so much track time it is easy to go the wrong way.  We've been steady and patient with the car and we have developed a very good set-up.  Both cars starting in the top four is great for Herdez Competition and I am so proud to give them their first pole position.  The owners of this team are so passionate about racing and this is a great achievement for all of us.  I can't say enough about the teamwork in this team, the engineers the crew chiefs and crew, everyone genuinely works together and they deserve the
best results.

It will be a long day tomorrow.  My first goal is to get a good start, stay out of trouble and have great pitstops.  My crew was the fastest in Monterrey, so we are a step ahead there.  This is a great feeling and I am very happy to have my first pole under my belt.”

Keith Wiggins, Managing Director: “I am very happy for the whole team. We have been working steadily to be at the top and today we did it, this should be the first of many.  Now we have a job to do tomorrow.”
