A Toronto Race Winner: A product of the Champ Car Ladder System, Hunter-Reay won at Toronto in 2001 while racing in the Champ Car Barber Dodge Pro Series. 2004 will be Hunter-Reay's fourth race on the 1.755-mile street circuit and his second in Champ Cars. Canadian Roots: Hunter-Reay carries an American passport, but he spent many summers and holidays in the Toronto area as his mother is a native of Hamilton, Ontario. Toronto is a very special race for Ryan, several members of his family live in the area. Ride to Work with RHR: A lucky listener of The Edge Radio 102.5, Toronto's #1 radio station, will win a ride to work with Ryan Hunter-Reay on Thursday. Ryan will pick up the listener at their home in a 2004 Dodge Viper and take them to work, delivering coffee and donuts to the lucky winner's co-workers. The same contest will take place in Vancouver; listen to The Edge for details. Ryan on Toronto: "Toronto is a perfect event, there is so much going on in every facet at the Toronto Indy, it's fantastic. The crowds are huge, the fans love racing, they are very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. This is a special event for me since my mother is from here, I have a lot of family in the area and it would be great to give them a great result. I have a race win under my belt in Toronto; I won my first year racing there in a Barber Dodge Pro Series car. When you have a good car, the track is a blast. When it's not, it is very challenging. Collectively, the Herdez Competition crew has a lot of experience in Toronto and I am confident we will have a good car and get back to consistently running in the top-five. I especially like tracks that require a hard, aggressive driving style and that is me, so I am looking forward to it” RYAN HUNTER-REAY, #4 Herdez/Lola/Ford-Cosworth/Bridgestone Event: Molson Indy Toronto Champ Car Starts: 23 Champ Car Poles: 1 |
