Ryan Hunter-Reay experienced problems with the back end of his #31 Briggs & Stratton/Rocketsports Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone immediately in this afternoon’s race. Fighting the quandary, the American did his best to make the most of the day and brought his machine home in one piece after going a lap down early on. Finishing 15th, the third-year Champ Car driver collected six points to continue his fight for the championship. The Rocketsports crew will pack up and head to Cleveland, for next weekend’s The Champ Car Grand Prix of Cleveland Presented by U.S. Bank, round five of the Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford. Ryan Hunter-Reay #31 Briggs & Stratton Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone “Well it was the same story today as it was for the whole weekend, a struggle. During the first laps of the race this afternoon, the car was very loose on the back end and had a lot of push. I was trying my best to keep the car on the track. I did all that I could in the car to make changes and when we pitted the crew made some changes on the tire pressures and front wing, but it did not make that much of a difference, the car was just that off. It has been a tough weekend, we knew we would have issues with the weather, as we do every time we visit Portland because of its location, now we will go forward with this and head to Cleveland in search of a good result.” |
