Champ Car World Series Round Six - Toronto - 10 July 2005 After what can only be described as a difficult weekend Ryan Hunter-Reay leaves Toronto pleased with his top six finish in the Molson Indy Toronto. Both Hunter-Reay and his Rocketsports team-mate, ex-F1 racer Timo Glock, struggled with car set up all weekend but one thing that Hunter-Reay has learned is that in top level racing the ability to keep out of trouble and drive a clean race can bring great rewards. Hunter-Reay, who has borne the brunt of Rocketsports' bad luck so far this season, showed what he was made of today and even earned an extra Championship point for gaining the most positions during the race. "I am relieved to come out of this weekend with a sixth place finish, despite the lack of pace that we faced," commented the young American. I was able to make some passes out there this afternoon and we had successful pit stops, so those are positives. The team really worked hard this weekend, so it is good to have both the teams’ drivers finish in the top ten. We had a very slow car so I decided to focus on avoiding getting caught up in anything and bring the car home in as high a position as possible while taking advantage of other driver’s mistakes. While, it is not the way I like to race it was the only sensible approach with an uncompetitive car and it worked out as well as could be expected. That said we need to find a way to field a competitive car. Now, off to Edmonton." Toronto was the first race in Champ Car's Canadian double-header.
