Champ Car World Series Round 11 - Las Vegas - 24 September 2005 Ryan Hunter-Reay took a top-ten finish at last night's Champ Car race in Las Vegas. The young American started from 16th place on the grid after a slow start to the weekend for the Rocketsports Team. By lap 13 he had made his way up to 11th and was lapping consistently with times comparable to the race leaders. Before his first pit-stop Hunter-Reay was up to eighth position and continued battling hard, especially through some difficult times with backmarkers, and took tenth place at the chequered flag. "It was a long weekend at the start because we had such a slow pace from the car", said Ryan after the race. "I'm pleased to finish in the top-ten considering how things started at this event. The car was loose in traffic, so I had a few close calls. Overall I am glad to get through this race and finish in the top-ten." Preparing for a new experience in Korea The Champ Car community has had a long break since the last race in Montreal but Ryan Hunter-Reay has been busy with his commitments to the Champ Car World Series. Ryan visited Seoul, Korea last week to take part in the promotion of the Champ Car race at Ansan, scheduled for mid-October. His two days in Korea were packed with interviews and promotional activities and Ryan saw first hand how excited the Korean people were that Champ Car was coming to town. "The press conference and media activities were very well received showing that the Koreans are very much looking forward to their first ever world-class motorsport event," said Hunter-Reay. "The building of the track and the event as a whole has been a major undertaking and Champ Car has worked very hard with their Korean counterparts to make this a reality." The inaugural Champ Car race in Korea is in three weeks' time on 16 October. LAS VEGAS RESULT: 1. Sebastien Bourdais (Newman/Haas Racing) 1:26:22.636 2. Oriol Servia (Newman/Haas Racing) +0.312 3.
